Join us at Val's for some special movies having to do with the experiences of trans men and their accomplices.
This night showcases Eric Daniel Peddle's seminal documentary "The Aggressives" (2005), following six masc-of-center queer Black New Yorkers over the course of 5 years, starting in 1997; as well as its lesser-known 2023 follow-up, "Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later", following some of same subjects from the original film later in their lives.
Between these two related movies we will screen the older Shinjuku Boys (1995), directed by Kim Longinotto & Jano Williams, following three "onnabe" working in a host club in Tokyo's Shinjuku District, and their efforts to live authentically.
